Just like roasting a turkey for a big holiday dinner, imports are all about preparing a huge amount of content all at once, putting it in the oven, hitting “go,” and letting Fusion handle the heavy lifting.
In this post, we’re carving into what makes Fusion imports a staple of data ingestion.

Imports
You probably use imports for your Student Memberships and Demographic data, but did you know there are other use cases? We will be exploring a few options below!

Access Group Imports

These imports allow you to import a list of folks into an Organization in Fusion. The Organization's members can be granted access for a specific duration of time through the Organization without having a Membership on their individual account. Previous Camp/Program Participant Imports

If you want to offer early registration to previous participants, you can pull a list from last year's programs. You can then import a membership, matching on an M-#. From there, you can restrict the program by the imported membership for the early registration timeframe.

Membership Extension Imports
You can pull a list of active members using our
public script. You have the option of the number of days you want to extend the membership for within that script. You can then create the import file and run it. This will add a new membership to their profile that starts the day after their current membership ends.

Blank Imports
Blank files can be used to remove a specific Membership Type or Membership Eligibility Type from all member records within Fusion. Blank Imports are typically utilized to remove Membership Types or Membership Eligibility Types that are no longer being honored/used, but may still be on a person's account. When to Use a Blank Import File.

If roasting a turkey taught us anything, it’s that the best results come from good prep and trusting the process. With the right setup, you get clean, usable data without breaking a sweat. Happy holidays, Fusion fam!
